I think the new one is definately better, the info is clear, colors look fresh. the lady pic at the bottom is very appealing and charming. Others just put a photo of hardware - so boring *yawn.

I would give it a solid 8 out of 10.

The text at the bottom looks better on the old one with paragraph spaces, nicer to read. Yeah, that bottom part look weakest on the new one, except the lady though, shes lovely, great choice.

On a different subject, you don't have PEAR? sob

I would go with black text instead of grey, its going to be very difficult for those with vision difficulties.

The old one, is old. The style does show its older design concept.

Many points have already been mentioned, including the feminine pink .

I would add the both the top and bottom header footer are rather too big and intrusive and contain too much of nothing.

As a general rule, any unnecessary scrolling should be avoided. You have 1inch on top and 1inch at the bottom, lengthening the page.

Footer, should really be a maximum of half that height. The pip separating the text is useless and ugly, the way it is now before a carriage return.

Good luck

I still think the pink is Ok, its new, but since no one likes it so far heheh, You should listen to majority, these guys probably are your main target audience.

looked up your color scheme in the "Pantone. Guide to communication with color book" - your color scheme is under the romantic, youthfull, happy, sweet category.

Darker stronger colors are more masculine, try blues, black and white? throw in yellow or orange for drawing attention.

dont get me wrong....i got no problem with the pink.
i think it would be a great attraction for female webmasters.
so now come up with a male version.
then all you got to do is figure out a way to detect the sex of your visitors and serve up a different one for each.
Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_GENDER")

I'm feeling very stupid now for liking the pink, but I think the feminine link goes deeper than the pink ... your logotype font and the serif typeface used also add to it.

After a few viewings, my rating is dropping to 7 out of 10, sorry . Hey post the next version for us too? wuold like to see how it works out

Best of luck!

PINK has been typecast as feminine. I do not personally believe in these feminine or masculine colour concepts BUT majority of visitors will not be interested in the true psychology behind colours and would wrongly typecast pink as 'girly'.

Designers have to design for the audience, and in a way that the audience understand.

I personally like warm colours and found out that the best way to keep a balance is to use mixed colours.

Blue is a cold colour. By increasing the amount of Blue in the PINK, you move toward PURPLES which can have the same effect without the typecast overtones.

There was a time that COLOR was almost everything in visual design. It is no longer the case BUT it is still a major player.

There are other aspects of colour which is frankly beyond the scope of this thread.

As a quite note, colour association is another important aspect of design.

I do not mean which colour goes with which other colour, although that is another important aspect. I mean psychological colour association.

Simplest would be GREEN which is typically associated with nature and Green Issues. So I would expect the Green Peace site to have a green feel.

Blue is associated with Peace, UN, Sky, Civil Liberty etc.

I once was asked to comment on a design for a Parish Church web site. The designer had used mostly dark colours with Black background. I wrote that the colour gives the impression of some gothic devil worshiper's site. Once more WHITE is typecast psychologically as being GOOD and black as being EVIL. Using dominating Black and RED colours is not the best way to portray a church site. I must add that I am NOT a religious person myself but one has to understand one's audience.

Good luck

Thanks for review.
One more design prototype is located on http://www.asharedhosting.com/design1/01.gif
Couldn't you please make comparison with two old.
IMHO it is our best version.

It does look more professional. The header is MUCH nicer. Removal of pink is a good move, however ,....

You would need a few well placed warm colours. Warm colours are more noticeable and make the design aesthetically pleasing to a wider audience.

Consider yellow, red family or purples to warm up the design. I feel 10% warm colours would make it stand out without making it look like a charismas tree.

Sadly [or not], sex sells. A sexy looking office worker [I am not talking about lingerie shots ] would create an extra attraction.

Image selection is very important. Since you have four images of people, consider [maybe]: A sexy looking one, a hip and trendy one, an image with people of colour [important to have mass appeal] and one highly professional office type [someone who looks like a stock broker].

The images currently on site do not invite a closer look. They should.

Good luck

i really like the look of the 3rd one (the newer blue look)

btw, i think the pink design looks a bit like the t-mobile colour scheme!
