Its clean, and too the point what are you looking to improve?

it would be nicer to have them look like buttons, or to make them have a bit darker background

I think its very nice and clean dear no need to improve it.

Add some more social media icons. You are missing Pin interest. As you are in card design business then why not have Pin it button on your creative card designs. You will receive more traffic and its a trend of using card pictures while wishing some on Facebook wall as well.

I like the design of the site. Looks clean and professional. Below are some things that I think will help improve it.
- The welcome button simply goes to the home page, but with /index.html . This is not good for SEO and divides your page rank. Better to direct both to one place.
- The three links at the top doesn't go well with the overall site. They are not clearly visible as well. Highlight them using color or some styling.
- When you consider the overall site your call to action button is weak. The idea is to make it stand out so more people will proceed to click it. Bright colors usually work well when it comes to CTA buttons.
- You have mentioned that these are done professionally with antique pager, red ribbon etc. Seeing is better than reading. Maybe you can add some images to give an idea about what they will receive.
- I personally prefer to make it clear the "contact us" button or link, instead of having it mixed with links to social media pages.
- Add social share buttons in a visible place so they can share easily. A floating bar to the left usually have the best effect.
