site check please

Hey, just finished making a clients site, want to know what people think.

My first hydbid site and I had heaps of trouble wih frames, but its all ok now, so yeah, give me your thoughts

Well here's your first problem -- I can't see / do anything b/c I don't have flash. Maybe test for it or at least provide an alternative link system. This would also be helpful for the search engines.

When you turn of flash, there are images missing.

Your images and your flash seems quite dark.

When you click on the links on the right, nothing happens except the pictures change

are you sure, check it again - i think i may have fixed the links, il do thge flash button abit l8er

The text said something about "cargo", but the picture was of a bunch of rowboats. This wouldn't give me a whole lot of confidence about the company if, say, I wanted to ship a load of pianos!

It's pretty, though, and way beyond my capabilities! Feel free to slam on my site, which I'm about to submit for constructive criticism.

the company name is named afta a greek island name "hydra" and they are a shipping company (shipping wheat+canoloa beans etc, not pianos ) so I have used greel isnland pics and two pics that represent cargo ships, if I find some good cargo ship pictures, il replace the greek island one

My two cents tells me to not use frames at all. The only time I use frames with flash is when I use the exact same flash banner for all my links with some music playing. When that is the case, the music starts over each time a link is clicked and gets annoying, but that is the only time I would use frames.

I would use tables instead so that the text area of your site isn't so small. Your site trys to make an impression with flash, but then loses its purpose since the content is really hard to read and follow.

Basic rule of thumb, you must find the happy medium between functionality and graphical design to make a high quality site.

Most of all, search engines will have so much trouble with your site because of your frames and flash. And unless your redirecting your content pages to your frame set pages, the pages people will find in the search engines will not include the flash. Hope this helps.

the reason im using frames is so i can have music playing - as you said, and so the nav doesnt have to load again and again.

and im not worried about search engines, my client says they are not important.
