site review

Thanks 1st of all of for taking the time to view this thread.

The site I would like to post is my first flash site and has 2 sides. I've done alot of work in the past with php and with flash but this is my first personal site.

There are 2 sides to the site, one being the personal side that uses flash and a heavily modified phpbb forums system. I only have basic support at the moment for phpbb but it's all in flash. It's a bit heavy and I'm aware of the fact it may run sluggish on some systems. It was a personal project of doing phpbb forums in flash and my main focus was to figure it out and get it working. I plan on in the near future to re-do it and re-design the forum layout. but all input is appreciated.

The 2nd side is the services side to the site and the direct link is URL This site has a rss news feed and a few flash forms for the contact and guestbook sections. Nearly 90% of the text on the site is pulled from php\MySQL and the forms mentioned above use php as well.

Both sides use 100% flash for display purposes and php\MySQL for the backend scripting.

Side note: in links on URL I have a devshed news link that uses the devshed news feed. If you get it from here it uses javascript but after some work I got it to work in flash as well.

i don't have flash installed.. so i didn't check out your site..

but i am curious about your signature..

For me, I like to get right to the information, your site takes a little to long to do that, but thats just me.

Thanks for taking the time to view the site. I just updated the design side ( URL )and plan on re-designing the personal side as soon as I can. I just finished up some touches to the RSS XML news feed, finished up the guestbook and I'm doing the music now for the design side.

Executive: I'm assuming you're referring to the personal side as it does take a good amount of time before you get to the guts of it.

As for my signature, Flash can use PhP for backend scripting. thus if something can be done in php (and most of the time is MUCH easier than goin the HTML display route ) Example, on the personal side of my site, I have a phpbb message board that's all flash.
