I'm not a SEO expert, but how many of your potential customers are going to search for a URL they know? I would aim towards being near the top of a query of "programmer boston, MA" for example.

What kind of effects would it have on all the existing pages on my site? All the old URLs with the page as a variable would be duplicates.

Probably none seeing Google is great like that

Nope, I agree with Kravvitz on this. Does your site have content? No? Who would look at it. Does it have content? Someone will look at it now. Now we will try to move it towards the top of a search engine.

If you want advice on SEO, try the SEO forum here or Dev Shed's friend SEO Chat.

bigger buttons, fonts and ui elements for everything. the ui elements look obscure now, all lost in the darkish grey/orangish composition of the site. potential people that are to do business with you will be more interested on easily navigating through your site and getting what they want fast, rather than the neatness of the site. "links" wouldnt mean much for me, if i was a potential employer. Resume would be an important button i would like to see, Experience another. You put all those stuff under 'About', but dont forget that many people who work outside I.T. field are not tech savvy enough to realize that about page may contain every kind of information about you, or take time from their daily schedules to even think it. dont leave anything to chances, put huge links to Resume and Experience pages (and create them, and make them look fulfilling) for potential dumb bosses and businessmen.
