United Way Capital Area Redesign - Need some opinions
I'm doing some volunteer work redesigning the homepage to United Way Capital Area's website (Austin Texas). We're still working with photoshop screenshots now, hoping to get everything laid out just right before any coding begins.
I came up with the first screenshot a few weeks ago, posted it here, and got some very helpful critiques. Now I'm on to version 2 of the screen shot. I'm trying to make the design less segmented and more like a cohesive whole. If that makes anysense. I'm really interested in what you guys think about the design and how usable it appears. Version 2 of the screen shot is here. It will be a liquid layout and the side columns will remain a fixed width. The original site is at www.unitedwaycapitalarea.org.

, only problem is it seems very bussiness like and almost cold, but I didnt read what it was about so..Nice one. Jack http://www.GuitarAd.co.uk |

Very nice and clean... I'd consider muting the colors on the navigation buttons on the right-hand side just a bit...

good example of simple and effective use of easily readible colors. i tend to enjoy white space on the right side or both sides, but that's me. i think it makes the design less confined, making the feel more patient, as if to say, hey man, take your time, no hurry. good job. liked the design a lot.
