frames are bad. they still linger, but you should avoid using them. this is true on sites such a this.. i cannot copy and paste the URL to show a friend something i am interested in buying, because frames cause my address bar to always display your home page.
you are using flash for things that don't require flash.. in other words, you are requiring your visitors to have a plugin that's not necessary for what you want to do. Avoid forcing visitors to download and installs something. we've already got a browser and internet connection, that should be enough.
your design suggests that you assume everybody uses #ffffff as their background color. I however use #cccccc. My grey doesn't match up with your graphics too well.. which brings me to another complaint.. this site is very graphic intensive.. particularly because of the reliance upon flash.
flash for effects that can be done with CSS, or javascript.. and flash that disables the navigational elements of the site for those people that don't have flash installed.
your site is also designed for 800 X 600 resolution, which was the standard suggestion for web design about four years ago. liquid designs (the kind that expand and contract automatically with the browser window) are preferred.
btw.. this is what your site looks like in Lynx :
Code:
FRAME : topFrame
FRAME : leftFrame
FRAME : leftFramejos
FRAME : mainFrame
so, i take a guess that mainFrame is probably the page I want to look at :
you would probably be fair to say "Well, who uses Lynx anyway?!" Well, there are times that I do, but not for shopping.. so you can probably safely ignore your Lynx users (it's not polite, but you'd probably be safe to do so)
HOWEVER, those who require audio-browsers (the sort that read the page aloud rather than display it one the screen) because the user is either blind or has poor eyesight.. that is how they are going to see the site as well.
Also, it's nitpicking.. but I don't need a website to tell me what day and time it is.
I really hate to give a a full-on bad critique of a site, but.. I don't know what else I can say
