Hey all, i thought id start off at this site by posting my site. i read through alot of threads and find 80% or so of users here are pretty talented, so your comments will be appreciated. This is just my 'portfolio' site. i made it fairly recently, its more a show off site more then a 'client puller'. So tell me what you all think, id like to improve it as much as i can. cheers, Evan

ok.. first of all.. i'm not in favor of flash designs.. when i go to some pages within a site, i would like to be able to go back to the page i was on.. and on your site, i can't do that via back button, and that's a really big turn down for me.. other than that... i think the site is very well balanced.. it might be a bit too busy, but that's just my opinion.. so if you can, try use XHTML + CSS to design a site rather than flash.. also, are you using a free domain? might be better to use a commerical domain.. since your a web designer, so your client prob will assume you have enough assets to at least get a domain.. lol..

cheers, im pretty aware that there is quiet a few of people that dislike flash, but i duno, i just really enjoy working with it. I think that in the right amount and not over doing it can really ad a uniqueness to a site xhtml, css etc cant. Each to there own. oh and im in the process of buying a domain im only 18 and id rather spend my money on my car at the moment

I cant read the text. Maybe i am getting old and my eyes are failing me, but i found my head doing cartwheels trying to make out what was being said. Also the page doesnt fit into 800 by 600. If you are trying to sell your web design services, you will soon find out that most people browse at this resolution. The page also takes a long time to load. You have some very good concepts there, but I think you should try and tone it down a bit as it can be quite distracting. You have a lot of talent, but you have to design for your audience and i think your audience might be a bit confused.

Yeah, text is difficult to read, as well as the pink color, is hard on my eyes.

trust me.. domain doesn't cost that much, i own about 25 domains and i'm only 16 each cost me about 5 bucks US per year..

Original website but do have in mind that it's important to have websites that are easy on the eye. I doubt pink is easy. The font is not that readable either.

I agree with everyone above, the font is hard to read. I think that is partly due to the pink, partly the background, but the font really needs a change.

Flash sites are ok if that is what you want, just keep in mind that many people find them annoying. Personally, I try to avoid them at all costs.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the thumbs up animation distracting. Does it have a purpose?

I am going to jump on the band wagon and say that I can't read any of the text with out squinting. And maybe it is just me but it took me about 3 minutes to find the navigation so I could get to a different page.

The only thing that looked like the next page was the arrow that says V1.3 but when I clicked that I didn't go anywhere.

Oh and just for good measure, I am not a fan of flash sites either. Accessibility is the key for me.

I'm going against the crowd about the flash design.. I think it's awesome!! but yeah, the font is dreadful

also I HATE scrollbars when you can't tell which colour is the scrolling bit!! ARGH!
