Being honest the page design is made up of too many graphics IMO. I used to do the same - it's probably a habit of folks used to working in the print industry(?). The whole page is pretty much a big graphic or collection of graphics. This is a bad reason for file size and therefore speed of download and also for being less attractive to seach engines. You can add alt tags but it's still not as good as having straight HTML. Especially for your navlinks.

read about what tables are for: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/struct/tables.html#h-11.1
i share skyrockets opinion about your use of graphics, also the graphics themselves are lossy and don't add a huge deal to the site. |

slow to download over my wee dialup and many of the graphics add little to the design

Kill the Java counter if you can (maybe use a PHP/text-based one) because this is increasing loading time quite a bit, and the time is spent with the hard drive spinning and loading the Java plug-in, not the page loading.
I would lose the gradient on the two pictures as well. Also, the first picture looks like a stock photo but the second is obviously not so is therefore lower quality. Plus they sort of contradict each other when you look at how the people are dressed in either. Otherwise, I like it. |
