I'm coding this with the intention of sticking with simplistic design with a focus on functionality. The website is for a forum-based rpg/micronation, so this seems to me to be the best approach.

Known Issues :
  • MSIE : poor PNG support causes transparency to be grey.
  • the <link> tags are overdone.. not every page will have ever REL when I take care of these.
  • using %3F in href for a url doesn't seem to work as expected.. but the html validator does NOT like ?'s in the urls.. what to do?

Looks great. One thing im not to sure about is the buttons on the left. I think it would look nice to implement some kinds of scroll type graphic. You know like in the old days!? I think the buttons seem a little out of sink with the mood you are trying to create.

I think you're correct on this. I guess in a way, those buttons are an overlooked leftover from before I was using any graphics at all. Now they do seem out of place. I'll try a few things on that later this week.. thanks!

validator shouldn't mind them as long as your links are in quotation marks, which they appear to be.

NOTE: Your doc type is HTML , yet you have <br />'s
