I would really appreciate your impressions on this page design.
We're at the layout design stage and need to know what you think about it before we continue to code. - Accessibility - is it easy to figure out and use. - Flow - are the images, links and buttons in the right place. - Does the site establish confidence and reliability? - How's the overall feeling when first comming upon the site. - Should we trash it, or go with it as is? - Tips. Thanks very much, Michael URL Last edited by besthotel : January 29th, 2004 at 03:05 AM. |

This forum is for website reviews. The rates should have nothing to do with the site review. What is the reason for having them in the poll?

I appreciate your question. The rates only have to do with the site review as in the case where the rate values outshines the look of the website design. Ex: "I don't care what the site looks like, as long as it works, it's safe, and it has cheap rates". But you have made me realize that it really isn't necessary to ask that - it is important to focus on design functionality without bringing rates into the equation. |

Heres my 2 cents,
At first glance everything is too big! The purple vertical bar is just screwed up! Just drop it. I think this is a cleaner design (business wise) than lunatic's thread, colors are nicer on this one, but that mockup seems made with more skill though, skill ... relative terms really. As looking at both really gives me a headache ... I commented a lot on that one. It is obvious that the person who did this has no design education, thats why all the elements you want highlighted are so large. Composition/positioning is good enough here. So the logo and the "find me ..." line should be smaller ... it will make the overall page look more fine. Whos that woman? It really doesn't matter if shes the nicest person in the whole world, her personallity does not show through in that one picture. You associate her with her nice personality, we the normal web surfers do not know her (and don't care). If people like her when they talk to her on the phone, they'll associate the experience to besthotel. If you want more people to call, make it easier for site visitors, by placing the numbers etc on a good visible spot. Look at these sites for reference on that. Do they put the employee of the year there? http://www.paysystems.com/ http://www.authorizenet.com/ The tabs look like a straight lift off of Apple's site. Make a bit more effort please people! Overall I'd say use this layout instead of lunatic's proposal. But spend more time on the graphics and layout. Last edited by bambam : February 22nd, 2004 at 09:17 AM. |
