Cool www.chickenchopshop.com

I'm just an animator from South Park the Movie: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, not one of the creators. You can check out my credits at the end of the film, Frank Sudol as additional animator and assistant Technical Director.

Anyway, working on the movie has taught me a lot about cartoon production. I've created my own action cartoon called 'The Chicken ChopShop', at www.chickenchopshop.com, featuring Hops and Drayne, two chickens stuck inside the gigantic ChopShop. I do all the work on the show, so let me know what needs to be improved. I learn faster that way.

I designed the site myself, if you want to call it 'designed'. Pictures tossed together with some text is probably a better description, but I'll let you decide. Honestly, my software is pretty limiting, or maybe it's just my skill level?

Let me know what you think about the site, the cartoon and ways to improve them; your feedback is always taken into consideration, whether it's negative or positive. I really want to hear your opinions!

Thanks,

Later,

-FS

Its a shame no one has commented on your site. If your looking for direction I may be able to help. First thing that got my attention was your site isnt centered on my screen. Albeit 1920x1200 isnt the normal resolution for viewing pages. Its still a good idea imo to center pages. Second thing (brutally honest) I cringed at all the tables/table cells(not that they're a bad thing). The direction you should be headed into if you want to be more than an enthusiast in webpublishing is using div tags / unordered lists (links/rollovers) and external stylesheets. Anyway, best of luck with all your work.

Re:

Thanks for the site layout feedback. When I get a chance, I'm going to work on renovating the site layout, and try to make it more cartoon-like.

Thanks for the initial suggestions, which I find helpful.

RE: Not cartoonish enough...

I just finished the new layout to the chickenchopshop.com. It's more cartoony and much simpler in design, thanks to your suggestions of course.

Let me know what you think.

WOW! Thats what I call improvement. Theres so many ways to make a website huh. Your site looks very professional now, as it should.
FWIW I still think you should center it.
If I can help, try surrounding all your code around a div container
Quote:
<body>
<div id="divContainer>
html code
</div>

to center the container use this css
Quote:
#divContainer {
width: ???px;
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;
}

Where ??? = the total width of your layout ie 760px
also, in IE you I get the image toolbar thingy try adding this to your code
Quote:
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no">

There is a program I use for meta tags its at http://www.affiliatehq.net/download/
Maybe it can be helpful to you. also try to remember the 56k people.
I also see you used adobe go live. cool.
Anyway, by all means do what you like. You seem to have taken to web design like a fish takes to water. Heh.

RE: Better

Thanks for the help guys.
I will play around with the site some more, and check into the code for centering when I have some time.

Thanks again for the great feedback.

Wink RE: Website and ifilm.com...

I added a few more minor details to the chickenchopshop.com, mostly more characters and text. Relating to the site:

Watch the brand new two minute Trailer of The Chicken ChopShop Series at ifilm.com, use the address below to view it:

http://www.ifilm.com/ifilm/product/film_info/0,3699,2661702,00.html

Let me know what you think here or at www.chickenchopshop.com. Thanks. The trailer features most of the characters seen on the site, chickenchopshop.com.
