First of all I'm not quite certain why on some pages you have both text and an image of that text, but I assume that that is only temporary. Also I would get rid of the first page, an rather have a design that's consistent with the rest of your site. But overall it's a very nice site.

Yes - agreed about the text blocks made of images. Why? Not good for search engines. Also, it is creating bugs in my browser (Mozilla 1.5 for PC). HTML text and even buttons are disappearing behind the graphic text so I can only see half the sentence or button. Made in MS Frontpage 5.0 - hmmm. Doesn't inspire me with confidence I have to admit. What a lot of code soup gobbledegook under the bonnet.
The falsh intro is mercifully short and very well put together. You guys are obviously better with Flash than HTML. Not sure why you have a spinning ball and the words "your logo" in the top right corner? Come to think of it "you can change text" - what does that mean and what does it have to do with web design? |

thanks for the good suggestions.....i have been having trouble myself keeping the text size consitent on my computer as well as others, it is sopossed to be verdana size 10 but it changes itself at will i feel like. If you hold control key and scoll w/ your mouse you can change the font sizes to fit perfact, but that obviously shouldn't be the way to do it. do you know how to keep it consistent to one size on everyone's computer? i am using frontpage, maby you could suggest something different.... The spinning ball shouldn't say "your logo" thats a new one to me, what browser did you use and which page did you see that on?....keep them coming, thanks |

Don't want to start another flame war on the pros and cons of font size as this seems to generate more heat than just about any other web design/development topic. The best way is to set font size of the p tag to 1em then use CSS to style the body tag to {font-size: 95%;} or whatever percentage you are comfortable. I have had mixed results with this however and am still trying to find the optimum method. I often lose the plot and fall back into control-freak mode and resort to verdana 12px and just say damn it. The trouble with this is that folks using IE cannot re-size or zoom the font. |

i always use 1em, as this is the minimum recommended by some group of poor sighted people (i forget which one)

I think you are referring to the Royal Blind Society maybe...?

it wasn't the royal blind society... and i can't seem to find which one it was, but anyway, big text means people can read it, and using a px font size is generally considered as bad, because it fixes the size in ie, although it means you might have to sort your layout to be flexible.
