I set this site up for a couple of web development companies to have a look at. I'm not really a front end designer and friends tell me to stick to coding the back end. I do enjoy working with flash hence the animations on there.

I'd really appreciate some feedback. I wish I could put more examples of code on the site, but I had a pretty nasty situation and had to reformat my C drive without being able to create any backups.

Anyway, some feedback on the design would be apreciated.
Cheers,
Dean

Nice clean design... and I'm no designer either. Just a few finishing touches I would do:

1. Maybe a darkish border around the main area.
2. Make the menu a bit more integrated with the rest of the site. Or have a menu panel separated, maybe as it is but with a bit more styling.
3. On the menu, when highlighted, yellow on white isn't a good contrast. Actually, I'm not to sure about yellow on brown for Deuteranope colour blindness.
4. The name/phone/email bit may look better dropped down a little, maybe all on one line with bullets between them.
5. Your CV opens a new blank page when downloading. Just one of my pet hates.
6. Finally, if it's a showcase for your work, give your CV a little bit more attention. On Word2k it's in need of a tidy up. Line it up better and maybe use pdfFactory to turn it into a PDF file.

dont put your email directly on a page like that unless you like lots and lots of spam.

i like the site design.
...but i have a bias for small fixed pixel sites like that.
