Www.retrodata.co.uk

Data Recovery Site

Outline : Provides data recovery services for individuals through to large companies. Site is there to bring in more business and spread word of Retrodata

Seems valid at http://validator.w3.org.

Please critique: design, layout, functionality, navigability or generally everything.

I got a 7.6 at Silk Tide Site Score with main problems being links in and failing to comply with British Disability Discrimination Act which I need more advice on!

I changed over to a CSS based layout for www.retrodata.co.uk

(cached versions still available via google)

Any comments? The site clearly needs more data which is currently being worked on but was wondering if people could offer their opinion.

Thanks!

JJ

Design -> nice and clean
Layout -> good
Navigability -> easy

Can't really fault the overall site. My only 2 comments are "alternative version".

Printer friendly:
I don't know whether people are likely to want to print your site out,
but if they are you should try and exclude some of the irrelevant stuff, such as menus etc.

No style / printer.

As you don't use your logo as a home link, I would perhaps make it into a background image in a div.
Then within that div, hide a <h1>Your site name</h1>. This way
1) you add a priority heading to your document without taking away from the design
2) Give a header to your print page by un-hiding it and removing the background image.

Just my 2 cents

Overall -> good job methinks.

Thanks!

Thanks!

It's the simple things I forget about! I always do a print version even before the screen version (CSS) but I was ina rush to get this new design out there :-)

I think I got basics done, just need to refine it and then look for content, images and blogs!

Thanks!

Overall I think you did a great job. I would just work on filling that blog with more content to make use of it.
