Thanks for the comments.

In regards to the scroll box on the left hand side. I haven't made it to big so that people with small screens aren't scrolling down forever thinking that the whole page goes on forever. Does that make sense? lol I thought limiting it would be better...

Not bad... the dates on the right could be made to stand out a little bit more (bold or italics would work well).

I too have to side scroll - I run at 1152 x 864 which should be large enough to cater for your width (I use firefox). Maybe shrink the width a little?

Sarah - nice site - clean and great someone actually build a readable personal site

Site is great maybe add a calendar to it that all members of you family can update!! Good way to keep in touch also!!

With regard to side scrolling you gave the html command:

<p class="forText"><IFRAME SRC="updated.htm" FRAMEBORDER="0" SCROLLING="auto" WIDTH="800" HEIGHT="50" TITLE="updated date">

It should be :

<p class="forText"><IFRAME SRC="updated.htm" FRAMEBORDER="0" SCROLLING="auto" WIDTH="100%" HEIGHT="50" TITLE="updated date">

And that will elimate your side scrolling problem but you will have to keep you update.htm page to 480 wide for people using 600 x 800 or just use 100% on that page - but that appears to be a function your not using anyways!!

Or you could put this at the very bottom of the page after you have closed your exsting tables!!

Regards
Frank

no it shouldn't.
paragraphs cannot contain blocklevel elements.
rather use a div-tag here if you want a container for the iframe.

On 800x600, which I'm currently using, I can see like half the page. Having to scroll across to see everything is probably not cool.

Also I notice there's a link in the news article to www.geocities.com/coolsarah83, but you don't know it's a link until you move the mouse over it. That's also not cool. It should stand out as a link.

The menu on the left is quite aesthetically pleasing for a navigation menu, that's cool.

There is some yucky "picture noise" around your logo at the top left. What you've done is saved it as a JPG with the compression too high. For that type of image, my suggestion would be to create it again (or load your original) and save it as a GIF. Because there's only really two main colours in it, you could also reduce the number of colours in the GIF to 16 to keep the file size down. And it would look much nicer and crisper, which is cool.

The paragraph styles are nicely laid out on the About Us page, but with such a small font I would recommend reducing the line spacing somewhat. That would be cool.

Your aunt posted the following comment in your guestbook: "nice one Sarah. I knew since you had no looks that you had to have brains!" Your aunt is really harsh. That's not cool.

Am working on a solution to that problem...

I know it's annoying me as well, it's something that is on the to-do list.

Thank you for all your feedback, it's been very helpful.

I have taken on board a lot of your thoughts and have changed the way the page is displayed on different screen resolutions - please tell me if it now works and you don't have to scroll as much anymore.

Also I have changed the way that links look on the site - does the colour that I have choosen look good and isn't to bold?

The dates on the right hand side now stand out a lot more, does this now work?

I have also changed the graphic at the top left hand corner, there is still some picture noise but I think it works better now. Any thoughts?

I think that was everything, anything more to add?

Thanks again.
Sarah
