    Critique design

Not my website or even server. Just critique the design and how you think it appeals

    Here you go

I plan on a blog system there in the near future.

Also, should I have a horizontal or vertical nav bar. And if horizontal, where? On top of the login box? Below?

Use markup the semantic way. You wouldn't want your dog answering the phone for you, would you?

Difficult to critique without more details about what kind of forum you plan. But if it's going to be a programming dev forum, you ought to rethink that idea, the Web is saturated with dev forums already.

It's just a tutorial place, such as property articles and such. Mainly HTML and CSS since that's my area of expertise.

    Got any design critiques?

    Love input so far. Thanks.

Good start, GameYin. But maybe a smaller logo, and variable width main content instead of fixed width.

Well in the past I've always done a fluid layout. Trying fixed.

Should I have a horizontal or vertical nav?

Logo is very large. Rounded corners on central frame need work against that background, but overall its quite a nice look.

Frankly, it's weak and kind of disappointing.

The source code (at least to me) is an indication that HTML/CSS is NOT your area of expertise. Styles in the header, and a large case of div-itis. Not cool.

Design-wise, I agree that the logo graphic is too big, and it's fuzzy. Shrink it and sharpen it up. In FF there is white around your curved box which doesn't need to be there.

I would have to agree with Arty on this one that you're trying to get into a market that's already loaded with similar sites. It'll be tough going for you if you're looking to make any money or anything. It's a bit tough to critique beyond this as there's not really much to it.

dude, when i went to your website i felt like your website was a time machine and got me to the 1998. frankly, your header looks terrible. however, i liked your sidebar design and i think there is nothing wrong with that, just the header needs to be redesigned and you'll have a great website

Needs a lot of work, simple things like styling your lists.

As someone said already about your source code quite frankly scared me.

The CSS page is very hard to navigate.

You need more margins, the text feels cramped.

The edges, especially at the corners of the design has white bleeding through and looks sloppy.

I agree with the comments on the header being cleaner, and the green bar on the bottom needing to change.

    Thanks,
    Minnow
