2k3 drivers, boy i wish i had sound...
so, i installed 2003 on this computer here, and my sounds doesn't work. I put the drivers disk in and no 2003 driver of course, and sadly all the disc says is "DRIVERS". The manual tells me how to use the cd (you open it and click set up duuuuh), and the box says "sound card"... really? thanks, i think i could figure that one out.
So anyways, I'd be nice to have sound on my computer, but I really really don't want to open my computer up. I actually am so lazy as to attempt to brute force it with downloading several generic drivers for 2k3 but to no avail..... so my question is does anyone know where i can get a new sound card that is 2k3 compliant? I'd almost just rather have a new sound card then go through the trouble of opening up the compter just to see that the sound card says "SOUND CARD", that'd be the final kick to my groin and would rather just avoid it. |

Have you tried install the xp/win2k drivers. They should be pretty universal.

when xp was new the same problem was a real pain, i usually had to force a 2k driver install which usually did it, some gave errors, so as the post above states, try xp drivers first then 2k if the xp dont work, they will not want to just install, you have to select the source and tell it to install the driver even though it will warn you about incompatiblity.
