Booting from cd
Need to boot from cd. I have changed the boot order to boot from there first, but windows just keeps loading normally.
I am trying to reset/bypass admin password as drunken daughter changed it on her pc and she is the only user/admin. |

If this is an XP system you may need to hit a function key to instruct it to boot from the CD...may be F12 but can't remember for sure...look for a quick flashing prompt during the boot sequence... |

Will give F12 a go. The prompt appears for a nano second and goes before I can read it. Cheers |

Some BIOS have a "boot menu", too. Try looking for that.
Also, this is probably a dumb question, but you DO have a bootable CD in the drive when it boots up, right?

If not one of the F keys, some motherboards can enter the boot menu if you hammer on ESC while it's booting.
The BIOS method (putting CD-ROM at the top of your boot list) should definitely work though. You are booting from a working Windows CD right? -Dan
