Cannot rename Windows Server 2003

Hi all,

I seem to be having trouble renaming my Windows Server 2003 computer. When I use the following command to start off the renaming process:

netdom computername r3ncomp2.r3n.net /add:coreserv.r3n.net

I get this error...

Unable to add coreserv.r3n.net
as an alternate name for the computer.
The error is:

Cannot complete this function.

The computer rename preparation procedure is available only if the
functional level of the domain to which this computer is joined is
Windows Server 2003 or higher.

The command failed to complete successfully.

How do I confirm that the functional level of my domain is Windows Server 2003 or higher?

Thanks!

It does look like a job for Raise Domain or Raise Forest level, in which case go to Active Directory Users and Computers and right click the Domain Object
