Unhappy CDROM drive dissapears

Hi...

I need help with this little problem I have with XP.
My CDROM drive dissapears suddenly, I dont see it anymore in the explorer or if i'm using it the running program fails.
I restart the PC, the drive appears but can use it only minutes, then again...and again

I'll appreciate any advice...
