Unhappy Could not system restore , plz help !!
Hello,, since i had troubles with my HP scanjet 3300c i installed the drivers of hp for xp so i could use the hp prg. But, that didn't wanted to work, so i dll'ed and installed the ones for windows NT.... Then it worked, BUT some of the icons on my computer, ex. internet explorer, notepad, paint, they all lost there icon... I also can't install anything anymore , can't scan for virussses anymore and a lot of progs just start flipping when i use them, infact there are a lot of them wich i cant use...
Then i decided to do a system restore but i cant do it... it won't work!!

I tried to run cmd and type "C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe"
==> didn't work

I thought of a virus, so i scanned with housecall online but nothing found..

Plz help

Download, update and run these two utilities to remove spyware/adware:

Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/

AdAware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Then run the System File Checker:

Start > Run > sfc /scannow

Also, system restore is turning out to be not as reliabe as once thought. It frequently fails.

Roxio GoBack is a much better alternative.

i can't install or run programs as they go real unstable

Run them in Safe Mode (tap F8 while booting).
