Directly changing icons in .dll files
I use an icon creation/edit utility called Axialis IconWorkshop. It can open up the icon libraries in any system .dll file. I was wondering if it would be safe to edit the icons in these files? Has anyone else done this?
For example, if I wanted to change the URL/Webpage icon that IE used, I would open up ".../system32/url.dll" and replace the icon I wanted to change with a new one.
Does this mess anything up? Does anyone else use this method to change their system icons?
