Do I need G-Nome?

I have an old computer that we don't do a lot on but play games, (mainly at pogo.com)not a lot of hard drive space. I go thru the add/remove every so often because search bars, etc. get added on and we dont really need them. I was going thru add/rem and came across G-Nome. I googled it but I'm no computer expert. Do I really need this and what for? as I said I'm no computer expert so if someone could tell me in laymans terms I would appreciate it........

thanks,

Could it be the game, G-Nome?
If you open the directory G-Nome was installed, you may find something to give you an idea about what it is.
Maybe "readme" text files and such, or other files which may indicate it is a game.
If you right click on the main program/executable file and go to its properties, maybe you can find more information under the "Details" tab, to help you figure out what it is. Company name, for example.

If you need to go through Add/Remove programs every so often to remove search bars etc. (?), then if I were you, I'd be running anti-virus and anti-malware/spyware scans too, just to be on the safe side.

I was also thinking why you don't use Firefox, seems to keep a majority of crap out.
