Dual Boot xp/win 98
Could someone please explain the requirements to have a dual boot system.
I have 2 hard drives on my sys. 60gig & 40gig but I am not sure how to get the machine to boot the o/s i require at the time. |

Win98 has to be on C:, so this has to be on the first hard disk.
Install Win98 first, then XP. voila.

One more thing, its bettre if you install Win98 and Win XP on separate partitions.

Umm, that's not an issue in his case since he has two drives, each being at least one partition.

Thank you for the replies,
However it still doesn't explain the way I can get to the O/S at boot time as 98 still boots automatically. Is there a menu that gives you the option of which O/S is to be used at that particular session? |

If you install XP *after* W98, it will add a boot menu by default. You can also setup it manually, but I canīt think of how to do it right now... Something with editing C:/boot.ini |

if BTW u have already installed both O\S'z and have to use the bois to switch between them
u can make a start-up disk for each when inside each operating system and then just use them ![]() |
