export permissions to another XP computer

Well, I have a weird problem; I have two XP pro computers, my main comp and a dev box. I haven’t had to worry about file sharing until now. I got the computers to see each other on the network they each have the default protocols i.e. TCP/IP, MS network clients, QOS, File and print sharing. And the permissions are the same on both computers. I can get files from my dev box and see the shares from my main comp but not visa versa, my question is can I export the permissions from my dev box to my main comp? Or better yet is there a way to restore default file permissions? That’s the only way I could figure to get them to both see each other and share files w/out reinstalling XP pro on my main comp. I believe that my permissions got screwed up on my main computer so no matter what I put for permissions it still won’t let my dev box browse my main comp. This is the error I get:

\\**** is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Login failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Any Ideas, I'll continue to search for a solution, I'll let you know if I fix it.

Well I figured another way around it, I was in my computer | Properties | Remote and I checked the Allow users to connect remotely to this computer. and it worked I then unchecked it and it still kept the permissions. I can now go and disable simple file sharing and set strict settings. Thanks for that suggestion I'll have to look more into the local security policy.
