Formatting compatibility- 2 OSs
I need a CD-RW formatting program that will produce CDs that will be accepted by two separate computers- one with "XP Pro" and the other "98" OSs. Furthermore, I will be using an Iogear "USB CD-ReWriter" that has the info "USB 2.0 40X12X48 on its face. My "XP Pro" system knows it as "ATAPI CD-R/RW 40X12 USB Device." Therefore, the program has to be compatible with the Iogear hardware, too. Iogear has been of no particular help. I will very much appreciate suggestions. CGS

Compatibility between two different devices or burning programs has always been an issue with CDRWs. As cheap as CDR media is these days, most ppl just burn a CD.
good luck and hope you find a solution Tom |

Format the cdrws in UDF format. Load the UDF reader on both pcs. As long as the cdrom in each supports reading cdrw media the issue is closed. Nero and others all support this.
