GRUB Problems

I recently installed REDHAT LINUX 8.0 on a PC which has Windows ME, it all went find and the REDHAT CD automatically ormatted the Hard disk so that it fits the Linux environment, now i want to install back my olf Me again, i uninstalled RedHat Linux did some partitoning with the Fdisk and installed Me, everything went fine but after the installation when i restarted my PC, it doesnt start Me, instead it says "GRUB" on a black screen. I tried the Fdisk again and installed the me for atleast 4 time but i still get the GRUB written on a black screen.

Is the "GRUB" a prompt, or just a word? How did you reformat before you put winme back on?
(and why on earth did you move from linux to Me? At least get 2000, its so much better)
