Question Hardening your Operating System

In protecting your Operating System what would be the most difficult to do ~

  • Hardening your Operating Systems
  • preventing attacks that come through Web browsers,
  • protecting systems from communications based attacks.

Why would the system be so difficult? I am trying to get a better understanding as to what would be the most difficult to do. No this is NOT homework I am new at this and I am trying find the best way. Thank you in advance your input on this matter. ~ Diana
