Please use a more descriptive title in the future lacj1.
Can you tell us what the windows installer says? |

a "windows installer' windows pops up and says 'preparing to install'. Then the window changes to 'Microsoft 2000 office premium' and underneath it says:'please wait while windows configures microsoft office 2000 premium'. 'gathering required information'.
then it is prompting me to insert the office 2000 CD. |

You must have office 2000 premium, so what the problem is, it is not fully installed , or has a damaged file that thinks it needs installed, the search assistant for office is probably triggering the problem, if possible, drop in the office cd, and do a complete install. should install all the files it wishes to have, the only time i have come accross this particular problem was when a hard drive with office installed on xp was swapped to another computer, it prompted to be reinstalled in the same as you described, kind of a anti piracy protection for ghosting systems. if this does not fix the problem, may want to run a virus scan to see if something is corrupting the system.
