help please

i got a server at my house on cable and i want to be able to dial my number to my house, log on to the server and use it like i would a normal dial-up isp and allow others to use it

You need to setup the PC as a dial-up server, what version of windows are you using? You might also need some software to allow for the routing of the internet traffic to the modem.

hey a.koepke

i am running windows xp and i am already running a cable server program, would i need a diff modem and phone line for each user

Firstly.. make you message header a lil more descriptive. "help please" is a sure way to have everybody scroll past it.

Install the modem sharing component of windows.
You will not need a modem for each user unless you want multiple logins at once.
Also, you will only be able to offer a max speed of 33K regardless of modems connected.
