Hidden ad?

I'm getting some sort of hidden ad, its sorta like a pop up but nothing shows but it is an ad for a movie or something.... just randomly happens. Anyone heard of this?

Its just been a random thing, the only thing I can think of that has been the same is AOL Instant Messenger has been on. But it wouldn't have ads like that would it??

yeah actually it would. they started using AV ads for AIM awhile back now but they said they'd limit the numbe of ads to minimal numbers. I've gotten only one so far and theyve been running the ads since early this year i believe.

Instant Fix. Switch to Trillian. Even the basic version is better than AIM.

ctrlaltdel , i had trillion up to about a couple of moths ago, did they ever fix the aol crashing problem, and does it connect to msn again? i tried the new versions of pro and free, but gave up on it. right now i am using paltalk, it has inter-opp for the same messengers aim, yahoo, icq and msn(which does not work either) irc not supported, but the aim does not crash. i like trillion better, used it for atleast a couple of years, just got busy and have not tried it again.

I've had this problem too KnowNothing. There's an audio ad nearly every time I log in. When I try to close AIM, my system crashes. I've never let the ads end now. I always restart my computer before it ends. I've tried the ad-aware and it does nothing.

Trillian works now. Now worries...switch to 2.0 and or get the patch for the correct version you have.
