Post How do you format xp and 2000

I am new to xp and 2000 and would like 1-2-3 instructions on how to wipe the hard drives so i can start from scratch. i really do need help. i dont know how to answer and of the questions or anything so please can you do every step ( even loading the os back on) really carefully. because i dont know anything about xp and 2000.

Send a message via AIM to icrf
Stick in the 2000/XP CD and boot from it. Follow the instructions it gives. You should be given the option to not repair the current install, and to format (or delete/recreate) the current partition.

Be sure to have backups of whatever you want to keep, because there isn't much going back once you've formatted and reinstalled.

or u can use fdisk from a windows 9x startup disk to clear the partitions

1. Get a win9x or whatever bootable disk with fdisk, format.com and stuff like that.
2. Put it in the floppy drive.
3. Do it.
