How to kill wuauclt.exe process?
Is there a way to kill or end the wuauclt.exe process? After the computer has been updated, this Restart Now popup kept coming up to have the user restart the computer and I do not want to restart at the moment. How do I kill this process so it does not popup again?

Why four hours though ? Why not just reboot the machine and let the Windows updates take effect ?
Or, what version of Windows is this ? XP can be set so that it will download the updates when online, but not install them until you select 'Shutdown'.

Many thanks for the help. The problem is the policy to enforce windows upate is from the domain server and we can't change the local policy. We don't want to stop the windows automatic update service. All I'm looking for is a way to have the popup to top popping up and quick bother the user for a least 3 to 4 hours. The 4 hours are enough for the user to do whatever he/she wants and then they will update their workstation.

To be honest, I don't think that is possible. I'll double check on a stand-alone machine at work and see what I can come up with, but, don't think it's possible. Will let you know though.

Thanks Eric M, when playing games like autorally this autoupdate ruins everything, or if you have to fight 5 opponents. And thanks ljCharlie for his great question.
