i need help here please!!

hi there..i have this problem...i cant conect to the internet..everytime that i open the IE 6.0 say "page cannot be dsiplayed" i tried netscape ,no luck...everything started when i download a progran (pc-booster) from kazaa i already delete that program,i have dsl i called verizon and they said that im conected to the internet ,they can ping my ip#..the guy from verizon made me do some test with the winipcfg and i received 4 replies when i tried with numbers like 80.20.02. etc...but when i tried with letters like URL dont received any replies..the guy said that my browser is corrupted...i tried everything..i reinstalled windows 98se..IE,NETSCAPE,,,i tried the system file cheker..i replace the system files..i reinstalled the dial-up networks...no luck im still have the same problem...one thing that i noticed on my desktop is the "icons" reload every 10 minutes or everytime that im gonna do something the icons from my desktop "disapear and appears again" like is reloading or something(sorry but i dont know much about pc) ,now im using the pc of my roomate ,we do network..she dont have that problem...we are conected to a HUB...my ethernet card is fine because im still can se her pc files and i can copy,delete,paste on her pc and she can do the same on my pc. i tried to switch teh cables and the hub port but no luck is like my pc is blocked or something....i dont know what is going on with my pc..but i really need help please..thanks...

There might be a virus in your PC. scan your pc with norton anti virus. and then try to do it
