i've deleted a file by mistake.. any way to get it back?

i am missing outlook.pst for 2000/nt. trying to remove junk from the cpu and days later, a problem magically occurs..

i realized that i needed that file when I was trying to open a php link to view the site's page on bugs... then applicationdata\local settings\outlook.pst is missing...

blah blah blah..

can you send outlook.pst to npsguard@yahoo.com, I'd appreciate it.. thanks

Outlook.pst is your personal storage file. No one will email you their outlook.pst unless they don't mind you getting a copy of all their emails

You can create a new outlook.pst file for yourself from within outlook.

I don't think so, the .pst file needs to be in a particular format for Outlook. You can open the properties for Outlook without starting it up and add a new Personal Folder file, which will make a new .pst file for you. You can name the .pst file Outlook.pst, just put it in the path you want.

You can probably find the personal storage file entry in the Outlook profile that's causing the error and delete it.

Anyone with the same version of Outlook could make you an empty pst file too.

i tried making it with notepad..

i am able to access most of my outlook features except a few that involve the outlook.pst file that I know have thanks to you who provided suggestions, and a minimal amount of thinking on my part...

anyways, in Outlook, there is the expandable/collapsable treeview to the left by default.. where do I arrange the outlook.pst file so that I can access the "Personal Folders" option

when i click on that option an error occurs

local settings/application data/microsoft/outlook/outlook.pst cannot be found yet i have placed a outlook.pst file in **:\Documents and Settings\***\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Personal Folders (1)\ and within Personal Folders (1) is Personal Folders(1).pst and outlook.pst

yet i still can't access the personal folders treeview option
