Iexplore problems

Hi, when i play yahoo pool and try to go out of a game i get this message: I explore caused an invalid page fault in module RPCRT4.DLL at 0167:7fbd0894 and then a message that there was an internal error and that the program will shut down. When i go out my desktop goes completely blank, when i hit ctr +alt del i see that there was an explorer on and an iexplore one. When i close the iexplore one it return to normal. Sometimes my desktop flashes until i close the iexplore one, sometimes i need to close explorer, but then it will shutdown then i cancel and after a while i get the program busy box and then i click cancel then everything is ok again till the next game. Can someone PLEASE help me!!!!

we will need a bit more information, like what version of windows, how much ram, but this sounds like you have, not just spyware, you probably have the yahoo companion, these applets and add ons to internet explorer usually cause problems, the use to much of your resources. my suggestion, go to add remove programs, remove any ie toolbar like yahoo companion, and for the ones not listed use spybot or adaware to remove.

that is the link to adaware, it is free ans safe to remove what it finds, if something you have doesnt work after running it, post back in here what it is and i'll try to find you a spyware free version of the same or like program.

which version of ie do you have, if you have ie 6 on 98 you must have the service pack from microsoft or it is going to be trouble, do you have norton firewall or any pop up blockers?

I got ie 5 try to run ie 6 but then the java don't open, probably because i don't have the service pack. I have no firewall and only installed the popup blocker when i installed the adaware and spybot programs. I cancelled all the yahoo programs i had on add remove and ran spybot and adaware programs, no success. Thanks for your help so far.

i normally dont recommend this, but, if you have the windows 98 cd, or a format and recovery cd drop it in the cd drive while you are logged in on 98, go to start, then run, type SFC , then run it, any files it finds missing or corrupt replace from the win98 cd or format and recovery cd. the system file checker was considered by microsoft to be a bad thing after they discovered it caused issues with updated files and programs, but it still is handy from time to time.
