Hi,
I am really cross with IE6... I have a problem which started when I booted up this morning, and it is only affecting this machine. If an image is not cached from previous visit, the image will not show in the browser. I get '(x Items Remaining) Downloading Image http://www.somesite.com/pic.gif'. I haven't changed anything in IE settings as far as I know today. I have also rebooted and reset to defaults to see if that will help - but no dice there. I have rebooted my DNS server, and my modem/switch etc to no gain. Plugging into the network with wire rather than using the wirless also doesnt help. I am running IE6.0 on XP Professional. I have also had problems with page loadings. I sometimes have to 'F5' a page to get rid of a server cannot be found message. Is this something to do with caching? Can I sort it? Is it more likely to be a problem with the ADSL modem or server? My other Win computers work afaik no probs and my linuxes and bsds are also fine. Any ideas whats wrong? comp (angry and frustrated (but not at you ) |

This may seem a bit elementry, but have you you dumped your temporary internet files?

hmm it doesn't seem to be any of them
although after shutting off _all_ my computers for about 15 minutes and booting them all up again the images seem improved - although some external sites still cause problems (internal network pages are much better) |

Man, I've been all over the place. No real solutions. Will keep my eyes peeled.
