Also try to download "7Zip" or so, archivers.

Under Programs, the first choice is HTML editor which has Netscape selected with alternate choices of Microsoft word for windows or Windows Notepad

Ok, I created a shortcut & NOW i get the target thing you're talking about. Target type: Application
Target location: Internet Explorer
Target: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"

You didn't have to create one ! A lot of shortcut icons get corrupted and don't open correctly causing problems and I just wanted to check. What happens when you double click on the shortcut, does it open OK or do you still get the 'illegal operation' ?

Hey Molej, Win98 shouldn't have zip achiver built-in, so that Windows cannot but open zip file by Word or WordPad. Download an archiver, they are mostly self-extraction exe file. Then you can extract zip at least.
