Login issues
At wits END.
I am running a copy of XP pro on a laptop that I have wireless. I have never had a problem. Recently, I needed to pop out the wireless card and now I can not log in to XP. I do not remember the username but I know the password. Any suggestions. I can boot to dos but I dont see any useful information thatwould help me remember the username. If I am "hosed" if I re-install xp will I lose all files? Thanks |

Try Administrator as the username, both with and without your password. If you log in as Administrator without your password, then things may not look right b/c you're not logged in as the user you normally use. However, it will allow you to go to the control panel and check what usernames are available.
