Lost in Workarounds

We have a Ricoh Aficio 2105 machines with a document server that we were told would act as a print server. Now we come to find out because of issues with Microsoft and Adobe, sending a postscript file to the printers document server is not possible in W2k, NT or XP to mention a few.

We have to copy the file to the printer through the cmd window. The documents we are sending range in size from 1 thousand to 100,000 pages and for various reasons we would rather have them sent to the printers server to await being qued up by the operator.

Does anyone have experience with large postscript files, any suggestions. Can we use a W2k print server to hold the postscript job. Print out a test page etc.

Im really looking for a real world best practice solution. Between the software people (doc1) and the printer set up all I have are dead ends and workarounds.

Thanks for your help
