Mapped Drive Randomly Gets Disconnecting

I have a network setup with workstations running Windows 2000 and a server that is running Windows 2000 Adv. Server. I have a shared partition on the server and it is mapped on all the user's workstations. For some reason, since it was set up, the mapped drives randomly get disconnected.

For example, on one computer someone could be working on it pulling files from the server. Then, a few hours later (sometimes within a few minutes of the last save) an error message comes
up that says the connection could not be found or the file is not available, etc.

The only way to reconnect to the drive is to open My Computer and click on the Mapped Drive icon several times.

Does anybody know how I can fix this? It is really annoying.
