Memory Sticks and AVI Clips
I was using Premier Pro 2.0 to export a small section of video in AVI format to play on a Laptop. The Laptop's Windows Media Player does not play it, usual C00D1199 Error.
Windows XP; 64 bit Pro. The main PC plays it on its Windows Media Player, so I did assume that its a missing Codec. However as I copied this AVI clip using a Memory Stick was that the problem!?! As when I copied the clip by burning a DVD and it worked on the Laptop OK, both from the DVD and when I copied it from the DVD to hard drive. The reason I tried this was another Video Player (VCL) said that the AVI file was broken. So are they problems with using memory sticks to copy and move around AVI clips? |

Sometimes this could be the cause.
I know that if you have one of those fake ones you get on ebay then it can cause errors more often. Anything is possible tho ![]() |

It would be how/what you are copying not the media being used for the copy.

I just exported out a small AVI clip onto my Desktop. If I copy it to my Laptop using a 1 GM Memory Stick it seems to get corrupt, but if I use a DVD all OK!

format the usb stick and then run chkdsk /r against it. Compare the file sizes between the stick and dvd.
