Question migrating from nt4 to w2k

hi,
i have to migrate from an nt4 domain to win2000 active directory.
But the problem is that the clients (already running on Win2000) must be removed from the old domain and added to the domain again, because they synchronize with the Domain Controller usingt the SID (security ID).
(All names of the Servers, Domainname and IP-Addresses will remain the same)

Does anybody know an efficient solution?

ok, i'm an entrylevel mcsa student just trying to help.

i've never worked with nt domains but all of the documentation i have read about converting to active directory has said to install an initial active directory domain controller that is set up to work with the nt domain controller.

then install the dhcp services and such on the win 2k server to take network load and dependence off of the nt servers. then pull each domain controller off of your network and replace it when win 2k is installed.

i don't think there is any quick swap in like you are hoping for. I'm assuming it should take about a week per server that you convert. Obviously the first server will take the longest.

there isn't any cut and paste method to do it though.
