Question Missing big amaunt of disk space

My c:\\ is 5 GB. I am using winXP profesional sp3
When i give properties on C:\ i get used space -> 4.42 GB.
When i selelect all ( i have selected hiddan files as well ) i got used space --> 2.55 GB . I have 500 mb free space. Also i have system restore turned off and i have used Disk Cleanup. the recycle bin is empty.
Soo simple math --> 2.55GB +0.5GB= 3.5 GB used space.
5 GB - 3.5 GB = 1.5 GB more free space. Where is that space ???

ps: i have screenshots but i cant put them in the threat coz new users cant put urls :<

The virtual memory takes a portion of the allocated disk space. It helps programs think they have alot of space to work with.

Or it could be the space allocated to the Recycle Bin on the drive.
