Modem stops working after 10 mins
I have XP, and everything was fine for months then suddenly my modem started to freeze or lock up after 10 minutes of connection. I haven't installed anything dodgy recently and haven't changed any settings.
I've queried the modem and get a response, basically everything works fine after connection (on a dial up) and I can browse for the first 5 or ten minutes, then everything goes dead I get DNS errors on my requested pages and when I look at my connection status now data is being processed. does anyone know what's causing this or can point me in the right direction. |

could be many reasons. the three most common imho are:
- your modem is overheating and going to break very soon. - your provider is crappy - you got a virus or similar.

i developed a problem with a USB ADSL modem after i installed a second CPU.
after a few minutes the machine would give me BSOD turns out that windows has a problem with certain USB controllers when using the multi CPU HAL.
