    NetLimiter Alternative for Windows 7

NetLimiter would crash in Windows 7 Beta, and in RC it warns me it has known compatibility issues. I have tried other software, but got similar results.

What software is there that can do the same NetLimiter does (about limiting upload bandwidth, mostly)?

Have you tried installing it anyways just to see if it works? I doubt it will bork your entire system if the program doesn't launch properly. If you right click on the shortcut and select properties, they will be a compatibility tab you can use.

You could also download and try MS Virtual XP for Windows 7. This will allow you to install the program on a virtual machine, but the program appears in your Windows 7 all programs menu.

Give it a shot and let us know.

Sorry for bringuing up and old post, I just now read that someone answered.

Just to let everybody know, in case this happens again: NetLimiter would not just crash - if it was installed, it would crash Windows entirely! I would only be able to use the computer if I started in Safe Mode (without networking). Uninstalling it solved the problem. This was with Windows 7 Beta, still haven't tried with 7100. Maybe 7600 solved this already, I hope it does. Playing around with different compatibility options didn't change a thing.

I tried other net limiting applications, and they all gave me the save. Hope this information can help others.

Net Limiter 3 supports Win7 and it's in a beta release.

Thanks, checking it out now. Any freeware alternative, by chance? (must have the limit functionality)

Not that I'm aware of, sorry. But, I'm sure that there will be software out there, probably just not a wide choice compatible with Win 7 at the moment.
