Newbie question on XP in 2000 domain.
Hello,
I'm trying to setup 8 new XP machines in our companys domain. We have used win 98 machines as clients before this. When I register the computer in the domain, the user on the computer has restricted access to the registry on the local computer. I.E when I log on as user "hans" I can't install apps because this user doesn't have access to write to the registry (at least not the parts required by the apps) or files in the "windows"-folder. I have to login with the "administrator.domain"acc to get this done. Is there a way around this? Can I have the user to access the local register? Hope this makes sense to someone. |

You probably need to add the domain user to the local XP PowerUsers or Administrators user group.
XP has it's own "local" users & groups. Look for the control panel Users settings to add/change things locally. |
