NT file permissions in XP
OK, so I screwed up. I dual boot installed XP alongside NT 4 and now NT will not boot. No problem, except that I cannot access permissions for files on the NT partition so my protected files are just that - protected! ( I can see them in Explorer from XP, but the properties tabs do not allow me to change the permissions)
Advice gratefully received on how I can use my XP - C: - drive to read NT - D: - drive protected files... Last edited by mr_wood : July 20th, 2003 at 06:15 PM. |

If you are using NTFS it may be because the NTFS versions differ between NT4 and XP. I know dual-boot NT4 and W2K machines prevents running a scandisk from the NT4 side.
The closest I have is a W2K/XP dual boot and I don't see problems like you describe. |
