Unhappy oh man... help please? =\

This is my 2nd time installing XP. The first time was fine.

I'm suppose to only have C, an D drive. But it has now has added C, D, & E Drive. Which I guess E is my cd writer. It has marked my D & E drives are "cd drives" ..

Before I installed this, I had all my stuff on D drive, so I would just nuke C drive. But I can not get to my D drive where all my stuff (or I hope it still is ). It says "please insert disk" I just want my stuff. Is it still there, and does anyone know how to get it?

I hope that makes sense

Thank You
~Two

Think about it

Since you have reinstalled you lost all security information related to d:. This is why you can't access. You should be able to be logged in as Administrator, go into disk manager and let XP write a signature if you haven't yet. Then in explorer take ownership of d: and all sub folders. That should do the trick of access again.

Concerning drive letter enumeration; again go into disk manager and see what it says you have.
